Saturday

1

Prevention Is Power: Keeping Pets in Homes Description:  Many surrenders are preventable with the right support at the right time. Discover practical, community-based strategies that address barriers before they become crises. Prevention doesn’t just reduce shelter intake — it preserves families and transforms outcomes.

2

Ready for Tomorrow: Disaster Planning That Saves Lives  Description: Disasters are unpredictable — preparation is not. This session covers proactive planning, response coordination, and recovery strategies that protect animals and communities when crisis strikes. Being ready today ensures lives are saved tomorrow.

4

From Fear to Future: Behavior Strategies That Save Fearful Dogs Description: Fearful dogs are often labeled “unadoptable” when what they truly need is understanding and structure. This session explores practical, trauma-informed approaches to working with shy, shut-down, and undersocialized dogs in shelter and rescue environments. Learn how to assess behavior, reduce stress, build trust safely, and create pathways to successful placement. When we slow down and meet fear with compassion, we don’t just save a life — we change its future.

5

Prevention in Practice — Spay/Neuter as the Turning Point  Description:  We cannot change outcomes if we wait until animals are already in crisis. Spaying and neutering is not just a tool—it is the turning point between REACTION and PREVENTION. This session explores the critical role of spay/neuter, including early-age spay/neuter, in reducing overpopulation before it begins. We’ll break down the data, dispel common myths, and examine how timely intervention dramatically alters intake, euthanasia rates, and community impact. From traditional approaches to early-age protocols, learn how shifting when and how we sterilize changes the trajectory for entire populations. Because changing the future starts now!

6

Changing Their Future Through Legislation Description:  Real, lasting change begins with smart policy. This session explores how advocacy, partnerships, and strategic legislative efforts can reduce suffering, prevent cruelty, and strengthen community support systems. Learn how shaping the law today creates safer futures for animals tomorrow.

7

Saving Lives Starts with Trapping: Compassionate Field Work That Prevents Suffering Description: Every trapped animal represents an opportunity to change the trajectory of countless future lives. This session explores humane, strategic trapping techniques for community cats through Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) and the safe capture of stray dogs. Learn practical field methods, safety protocols, planning strategies, and post-capture coordination that protect animals, volunteers, and the public. By strengthening field work practices, we strengthen spay/neuter programs — moving from reactive rescue to proactive prevention and truly changing their future.

8

Changing the Future by Teaching the Present  Description:  Every shelter intake number tells a story of missed prevention. This session focuses on humane education as a long-term solution — equipping children, families, and communities with the knowledge and values that reduce overpopulation. Discover how education initiatives can support spay/neuter efforts, strengthen community partnerships, and create generational change.

9

Tech with Heart: AI Made Simple for Rescues  Description: Discover how AI can make your rescue work faster, easier, and more effective — without losing the heart of your mission. This hands-on session shows rescuers of all experience levels how to write adoption stories, create graphics, and streamline outreach using AI tools, step by step. Learn to combine compassion with innovation to shape the future of every animal’s story.

10

From Management to Momentum: Rethinking Cats Description:  Cat programs are evolving beyond traditional approaches. This session explores innovative strategies that move from simply managing populations to creating measurable, sustainable impact. It’s time to build forward-thinking solutions that change the future for cats and communities alike.

11

Access Is Everything — Building Spay/Neuter Systems That Work  Description:  Prevention only works if people can access it. If services are out of reach, overpopulation remains inevitable. This session focuses on building and scaling spay/neuter access in real-world communities. From high-volume, low-cost clinics to mobile units and transport-based models, we’ll explore practical strategies that remove barriers and meet people where they are. Learn how to develop sustainable programs—including brick-and-mortar clinics, mobile spay/neuter units, and community partnerships—that expand reach without sacrificing quality. We’ll also address logistical challenges, funding considerations, and how to create systems that last. Because being visionary means designing solutions that work—not just in theory, but in every community we serve.

12

Healthy Today, Hopeful Tomorrow: Medical Care That Changes Their Future  Description:  Proactive, accessible veterinary care dramatically improves outcomes in rescue and shelter environments. This presentation highlights medical protocols, prevention strategies, and resourceful solutions that move animals from survival to stability. Health is the foundation of every second chance.

Behavior Changes Everything: Training That Saves Lives  Description:  Behavior challenges are one of the leading causes of surrender and euthanasia — and they are often preventable. This session explores practical, humane training strategies that increase adoptability, reduce returns, and strengthen the human-animal bond. When behavior improves, futures change.
